Sanibel Vacay

So, I had this big elaborate plan to recap my vacation today, seeing that I flew home last night, but, I took zero pictures worth sharing with the exception of a few gorgeous sunsets (they really are stunning on Sanibel).

It was chilly in Florida. I was still bundled in a sweater 4/5 days that I was there, so we spent a lot of time sitting on the porch reading our books. I had tons of time to catch up on blogging, e-mails, and emptying my Kindle of unread books. It did get to a point one day where Mom and I needed to get outside, so we bundled up and plopped our chairs by the ocean. It didn't last very long (it was seriously cold), but it was nice to get out of the house!

We did also get to hop over to Naples to do a little shopping one afternoon. I was dying to see the new Lilly store in the Waterside shops, and it was definitely worth all the hype. The store is a lot smaller than I thought it would be (even smaller than my store!!), but the girls there were so friendly, and their fitting rooms are to die for!

There was also a lot of family time (which, really, was the point of our trip). We skyped with relatives in Colorado, and had multiple dinners with our Sanibel relatives. We were lucky that quite a few nights the sky cleared up for sunset, and we were able to get some gorgeous pictures.

I love this place.

We also went through some old photo albums, and my aunt even brought a few vintage pictures over. Seriously, my fashion sense was on point in the 90's, and a few of them gave me a good chuckle. Can we tell that I've been a Daddy's girl since the day I was born!?

All in all, the last few days were just what the doctor ordered. Lots of reading, catching up, and relaxing. While I would have loved to spend more than one day catching some Vitamin D, maybe the weather was a blessing in disguise!

5 On Friday!

Linking up with sweet April, Darci, Christina, and Natasha for 5 on Friday!

No spend September is technically over. I still want to be as frugal as I was this last month, but I had to splurge on my new favorite outfit from work;
I am totally obsessed with this new Veranda Camisole, and it looks so fresh with these Worth Skinny Mini jeans in Cameo White. I will be wearing this outfit to work today!

Pumpkin K- Cups in my coffee. Seriously, what could be better?

In five days, I'll be here;
There has never been a time when I was in such desperate need of a vacation. Literally, I cannot wait to walk off of that JetBlue plane on Wednesday and smell the salty air. Can't wait. Can't wait. Can't wait.

I just finished Girls In white Dresses by Jennifer Close. I. Loved. It.
I actually downloaded another one of her books this morning, called The Smart One. I'm looking forward to this one!

I love this bedside table. I know that I would sleep so much better with a low-clutter situation next to my bed. In my spare time I'll re-create this!

Matched on Monday

After flying through The Hunger Games series, followed by Divergent (and Insurgent.. impatiently waiting Allegiant), I was looking for another trilogy to get my fix of dystopian societies. It had taken me months (literally, since May) to get through Andy Cohen's book, and I started Matched based on some recommendations from friends. The book was awesome. I finished it in a mere 4 days, and am having a hard time not purchasing Crossed. I want to wait until my beach trip where I can read it uninterrupted.

Interested? Here's a synopsis from Good Reads.
"Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate... until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow."

Have you read Matched?
What do I need to read next!?

My Life, Currently...

This week seems to be flying by! Inspired by Preppylove's post yesterday, here is a list of my current faves!

Current Book: Most Talkative by Andy Cohen -- I'm obsessed. His writing style is just as hilarious as WWHL, and I can't put it down!

Current Nail Polish: Pansy by Essie -- it is the perfect color for summer!

Current Outfit: Callahan Shorts have officially become a staple in my daily wardrobe. YAY for being able to wear them to work! Bonus points for these because they glow in the dark!

Current TV Show: The Bachelorette. I haven't gotten around to watching the season premiere of Pretty Little Liars yet, but I'm sure that would have made the list! Speaking of The Bachelorette, if you haven't read Mason's recaps of the show yet, you're totally missing out!

Current Playlist: ALL Rascal Flatts. Getting excited to see them in concert this weekend!

Current Love: Our new foster pup, Rusty!

What are you currently loving?

Must See, Must Read, Must Hear...

For this Tuesday's musts...

Must See;

Ever since I finished the final Harry Potter book a few months back, I have been dying to see the movie! Everyone has told me that this one is the best, so I just need to track this one down (preferably for free somewhere...) and take the time to watch!

Must Read;

Crazy Little Thing by Tracy Brogan. I read this in just a few days, and LOVED it. While it was super predictable (just like every other book I read...), Brogan's writing style made it worthwhile. She is sarcastic, hilarious, and witty, while keeping me hooked into the story. This is definitely the perfect book to throw into your bag on your way to the beach!

Must Hear;

It's A Beautiful Day by Michael Buble. How could you NOT be in a happy mood after listening to this song!? I'm mildly obsessed.

Must Have;
This watch has been mysteriously floating around Pinterest for a while, and I've finally tracked this one back to Swell Caroline. Everything about it is customizable, and I have to have it. The best part? It's only $66! Totally affordable! And it's monogrammed.. need I say more?

Must Laugh;

This video has been going around the cyber-verse for a while apparently, but I just saw it on the Today show this morning. I am dying -- this girl is hilarious!

What are your must haves this week!?
