Miscellany Monday.

Guys, I had the weirdest weekend ever.

Like, I am still laughing at what an epic disaster it was.

Okay, maybe Friday was really what killed me, but I went from having a jam-packed two days, to literally zero plans whatsoever.

It all started Friday morning when I put my pants on backwards. At 6:30 in the morning. I knew that my day was headed nowhere fast, but I finished getting ready and headed on my merry way. I was working in our Greenwich store (again) and had to meet one of the managers to pick up a key to the store at a nearby hotel. It took me an hour and a half to get to the hotel, which already put me a half hour late for work. The pouring rain and freezing temps didn't help much either.

By the time I finally reached the Avenue, parked, and walked up to the store, I already felt defeated. Little did I know that one of the other managers had given me the wrong alarm code for the store. Basically by 10am I had set off the alarm and the cops were trotting through the front door trying to figure out why I was breaking in.

Fantastic.

I also decided that it was a great idea to wear my Tory Burch Revas for a 2nd day that week, which I never do. By 6pm, my feet were bleeding, swollen, and I was just so cranky that I needed to get home ASAP. Thank goodness I had the weekend off.

Half of my plans ended up falling through for Saturday and Sunday (which ended up being a blessing in disguise). I had a leisurely lunch with Kristen to celebrate her birthday, and passing the NY BAR exam, and then treated myself to a mani/pedi with my Momma (and finally getting After School Boy Blazer). We made dinner, and I snuggled on the couch by the fire to read Catching Fire for the second time.

Yesterday I slept in until after 10:30 (I never do that anymore), and was utterly worthless for the remainder of the day. I don't think I got off of the couch for any extended period of time except to make meals, poke the fire, or walk the dog. I finished Catching Fire, got a little early Christmas shopping done, and finally relaxed. I certainly needed a low-key weekend like this, and I'm thankful that I could get some rest heading into a very busy week at work!

Please tell me that y'all had a more exciting (in a good way!) weekend than me!

Weekend Shenanigans: Besties Edition

Whenever I sit down to write these posts on Monday mornings, I always wish that I had taken more pictures throughout the weekend. Oops.

After a crazy week last week, I couldn't have been more thankful to have the weekend off. The timing was perfect, and I was so excited to be able to coordinate a bestie weekend revolving around Hokie Football, serious girl time, and entirely too much vodka.

We met in Greenwich on Friday night, picked up some dinner, and were in bed so early (#grandmastatus) knowing that we had a long day (aka HUGE FOOTBALL GAME) ahead of us. Early Saturday morning we had bottomless coffee, and ran errands until my bank account was seriously hurting (and I finally snagged this sweater at 10% off)! I even made it home with a brand new TV for my bedroom, and have finally been able to organize the disaster that was my room.

Saturday afternoon we baked these Cookies & Cream Rice Krispie Treats for the game. They are amazeballs, and actually turned out just like the picture on Pinterest;

Yum.

By the 7pm kickoff, we were more than anxious and ready for the game to begin. The weather in Miami looked like a typical Blacksburg day, and we knew that it would work to our advantage. There was so much screaming and yelling at the TV, but my Hokies played the best game of the season. The defense was practically flawless, and for the first time in a long, long, long time, so was our offense. No turnovers. No huge mistakes. I haven't been this happy with our performance in a while! We ate way too much pizza, drank way too many fruity drinks, and were utterly high on life by the time the game clock hit zero.

I love college football.

We topped off our night by snuggling in my bed watching replays from the game.
Does anyone else do that? Please, someone reassure me that this is normal behavior...

Life from my iPhone.

Last week was certainly a crazy one! We were prepping for a huge event at work, and I've been trying to get my life together for my trip this week! Here's what happened last week according to my iPhone...

 I played dress up at work to feature our new delivery on my store's Facebook page.

 I got really excited that I get to play with this sweet girl all week at the beach! I mean, who can turn down that face!!!!

The cops made quite a few appearances in the neighborhood. 

I dressed up for my work cocktail party. 

I spend my Sunday doing comp reports, replenishment, and drinking LOTS of coffee!

Weekend Shenanigans.

After a full blown week of travel, re-adjusting, and getting back to work, the fam and I didn't stop with our weekend plans. For Christmas, Mom had gotten us tickets to see Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, and The Eli Young Band at MetLife stadium in New Jersey. We knew that we would be cramming a lot of things into a week after getting back from vacation, but with this killer lineup, who could miss it!?

We set out early to tailgate, and after our horrific experience seeing Rascal Flatts in June, we were just hoping that this would be better. Other than some minor traffic getting down to Jersey, the trip started out on a much more positive note. Parking was quick and easy, and we even scored a spot near some port-a-potties (definitely an upgrade from a bush behind some electrical boxes...)

 

The last time we saw a "stadium" concert (I guess more of a coliseum concert), it was horrendous. We had to wait over an hour for the bathroom, girls were throwing up everywhere, and the security team were total jerks (if you can avoid Nassau Coliseum, do it). We didn't have high expectations, but were pleasantly surprised. Lines for food/drink/bathroom were practically nonexistent, and they even let my Momma take an elevator up to our seats because of her bad back. The service was exceptional, the security team was on point, and I have named it my favorite concert venue from here on out!

We arrived at our seats a few minutes before the Eli Young Band came on. It was just the right amount of time to grab a drink and a snack before the concert began. We really didn't know too much about Eli Young, but they put on a fantastic show. They'll be playing at the county fair in a few weeks and you can bet that we will be there!

 Eric Church surprised me -- he was excellent! I only wish that I could have heart his voice a little more. I'm not sure if it was because our seats were so high or they just didn't turn the big speakers on until Kenny, but Eric was great!

 

The night was beautiful, and none of the acts disappointed. Kenny Chesney certainly deserves this stadium tour -- he was unreal. He played all of my favorites, and did not lose a drop of energy for the entire two hour performance. I would see him again in a heartbeat!

Now, I just need to get back to MetLife to see BIG BLUE play this fall!

Sunday morning we were excited to pick up our new foster dog, Miranda (now re-named Mandy). She is the sweetest little thing who was rescued from a shelter in Virginia only two days before she was set to be euthanized. I can't imagine why anyone would give this sweet face up, but I am certainly grateful that we get to keep her for a little while!

Miscellany Monday

The last few days have felt like a complete blur. Having two days off in a row last week made Friday feel like Monday and I've been thrown off ever since.

Here are my weekend randoms.

Wednesday (aka Saturday) I did a little shopping and even picked up a new bra for $6! I love Marshall's! Then I picked up my friend at the train, stuffed our faces with froyo, and even had a great man-hating-bitch-sesh. It was 100% necessary.

Thursday we woke up early, and got started making some red, white, and blue food. We also inflated our pool, and picked up some patriotic donuts at DD

After sippin' and dippin' (and getting covered in bug bites), we headed to a family friends for some fireworks over the water!

Friday morning I woke up more confused than ever. I was convinced that it was Monday, and couldn't get it right all day. When I got home after work, I was even angry that The Bachelorette wasn't on. I'm still a little confused from that day!

The (real) weekend dragged by. I worked for most of it, but did get to sleep in a little yesterday! I even got to catch a few innings of my brother's baseball game where he pitched 8 innings and only walked ONE batter. I think we have the next Andy Pettite over here (oh, I wish)!

Weekend Shenanigans!

This weekend can be described in one word; shenanigans. 

Friday I worked until late, and then headed home to get to bed for a full day of fun on Saturday. Mom and I started off with a mani/pedi and prepping food for our Rascal Flatts tailgate.

On the menu? Deviled eggs (that we forgot to make... whoops), Buffalo Chicken Bites, Pepperoni Rolls and S'mores cookies.

After solving the dilemma on what to wear (finally decided on this top and these shorts), we loaded up the car and headed to Hartford. The sun was shining, we scored a tailgate spot pretty close to the venue, and the food was delicious! What could be better?

Cassadee Pope opened the show, followed by The Band Perry, and finally Rascal Flatts took the stage. I have been waiting 7 years to see these guys in concert and I was not going to let anything ruin that night! I even tweeted and my tweet showed up on the big screen next to the stage (now I'm obviously famous)! They played all of their hits, and it was just perfect. Mom and I even cried during their rendition of "I Wont Let Go." It was a real cute bonding moment.

We didn't get home from the show until after 1:30am and I hit my bed hard. I slept straight through until 11am when I got up and picked up breakfast for the family for Father's Day. We watched the U.S. Open, laughed, and ate a big dinner. It was early to bed since I was still super exhausted, and I knew I had a long week ahead of me.
