5 on Friday!

Linking up with April and friends to share all of my favorite things from this week!

I finally got my hair cut! I haven't been in for a cut since AUGUST, so it was definitely time. I also squeezed in an appointment with my colorist, so today, I'm feeling fresh! It is truly amazing what a fresh cut and color can do for your day!

Happy JUAN-UARY. Guys, this season of The Bachelor might be the most dramatic because I am just so in love with Juan Pablo. How adorable was he when he didn't get Lauren's name and he went back into the house to be sure he got it!? I die. He is just so lovable!

My sweet friend Jacky and I were thinking of starting a Bachelor Bracket for the season and including a weekly link-up on Mondays.. would anyone else be interested!?

Let's just take a moment and reflect on the fact that in the final year of the BCS, the SEC did not win the National Championship game. I am by no means a Florida State fan, but I'll do anything and everything in my power to cheer for an ACC team to bring back that crystal football to the conference! The game was certainly suspenseful, and I honestly don't know what I'm going to do now that the college season is over.

Momma and I had a date last night to finally see Catching Fire. Let me preface this by saying that this was my favorite book of the trilogy, and I probably had pretty high expectations. But, I was very disappointed with the movie. I thought that the first movie stayed fairly true to the book, only eliminating a few details that could be covered up (my biggest beef with the first movie was the elimination of Madge and her friendship with Katniss). However, Catching Fire left out so many important things. Heavensbee showing Katniss his Mockingjay watch, Katniss finding the two District 13 girls out in the meadows, Cinna designing all of the wedding dresses for her to showcase as her hobby? Those were some of my favorite parts! I don't even know if I want to see the third movie now.

After being in this crazy polar vortex for the last few days (which, I have to admit, has turned me into a wimp -- this is what winter is supposed to feel like...), I am really excited for temperatures being in the 50's this weekend! Breaking out the dresses and boots for work, and just praying that for even a few minutes the sun will be shining!

What are y'all doing this weekend!?

5 on Friday!

Linking up with Christina and friends for 5 on Friday!

Y'all, I had the best weekend ever last week. It involved nearly all of my favorite things; besties, college football, and bar hopping in NYC. When I left the city on Sunday morning, I just kept wishing that the weekend would never end. My Hokies took home the Commonwealth Cup for the 10th year in a row, Auburn had the most beautiful victory in the history of college football, and I had entirely too many Cranberry Vodkas. We went "sightseeing" at 1am, and ordered the most perfectly timed pizza in the world.

Momma and I picked out our Christmas trees last night! It is one of my favorite traditions to go to Stew Leonard's and drive the workers crazy trying to find the perfect ones. We got lucky this year, seeing as the rain was coming down and the tree area was pretty empty, and found our trees very quickly. Now, we can spend the weekend decorating the house and the trees!

The Sound of Music last night?

So, I haven't watched it in it's entirety, but what I did see, I loved. While Carrie's acting skills may be sub-par, I thought that the singing was on-point, and I loved it. I can't wait to sit down and watch it from start to finish. Did any of you watch!?

This little baby is finally mine. I took serious advantage of Cyber Monday and got 30% off. Now, I am impatiently waiting for it to ship, hopefully within the next week. I have been eyeing this bag for a LONG time, and I just couldn't resist the deal.

I joined a gym on Monday. I know that I really need to get my life together, especially during the holidays, so I found the perfect gym that I can literally walk to from work. My membership included a free 30 minute personal training session. On Wednesday I took advantage of that. It is Friday, and I literally cannot walk up and down the stairs. What a rude awakening that was. I have found an adorable little calendar that I've finally put a training plan into, starting on Sunday. While I am dreading getting back into a routine, I know that it will be the best thing for me come spring/summer!

Five on Friday.

This week has definitely been a roller coaster, but I can certainly think of 5 fantastic things to share with you on this freezing Friday morning (other than the frost on the ground...)

I finally got my promotion! Letter is signed, sealed, and ready to be delivered! I am so excited to see where this takes me, and what opportunities follow!

On my off-day yesterday, I started binge watching Chicago Fire. I had watched an episode on the plane on the way home from Punta Cana and instantly fell in love. I had forgotten about it until yesterday afternoon, and now I'm afraid that for the next few weeks, I'll be glued to the OnDemand Menu catching up!

The Zac Brown Band was incredible on Sunday night. Absolutely incredible. Their harmonies and their energy made the show unstoppable. The entertainment factor was boosted even higher when they played Enter Sandman. I think that it's a sign of a fantastic football season ahead (we wont mention the score on Saturday night...)

I'm excitedly planning festivities for my trip to North Carolina next weekend! Gameday outfit has been purchased, and now I need some fabulous tailgate recipes, cute accessories, and a liver that will hopefully not let me down. It has been almost two years since I've seen my Hokies play live, and I cannot wait to see friends and family at the game!

The temperatures have dropped (and so has the humidity, thank God), and I'm SO excited to break out the riding boots and chunky sweaters soon! I'm sure it is only a matter of time before I'm longing for Callahan Shorts and flip flops, but for now, all I can think about is a cashmere sweater, my Frye boots, and a piping hot Pumpkin Spice Latte!

Five on Friday.

one
I have been calling next week the beginning of the end. With a huge store move looming over us, the preparations seem endless. I am taking this time to keep my hours in check and taking extra time to relax during my off time. I'm scheduled to work 50+ hours the week we move, and could not be more thankful that my family planned our vacation for the week after this takes place. You can bet that I'll be spending some time at the spa!

two
It took me over a month to get through Andy Cohen's Book, "Most Talkative," but three days ago I started "Matched" by Ally Condie and am obsessed. Like, Hunger Games obsessed. I'll finish the first one this weekend, and don't know if I'll be able to get through my other unread books before I have to buy "Crossed." If you need a great, quick summer read, I highly recommend this one!

three
My favorite 'ol man turned 90 on the 7th! I got to celebrate when I was visiting him in April, but I still wish I could have been there on the big day. He has been surrounded by family members for the last few weeks, and I am so thankful that he has been able to share some amazing experiences with us in the last few months!

four
Have I ever mentioned how obsessed I am with bathing suits? I mean, I hate shopping for them, but cannot stop looking at them online. Someone grant me some unlimited funds (and free shipping, and a body like those models please), and I'll be your best friend. I pinky promise.

five
The break in humidity that this weather has given us this week has been a lifesaver. I forgot how awesome it is to do my hair and actually have it stay put all day. It's the little things in life, right?
